appearance
Gishiki, like their twin, was born with albinism, but it is not total. They have heterochromia, with one red eye and one white one that is actually very pale blue in the right lighting. Their skin is pale white, with almost no pigment whatsoever, and appears translucent in the sun to reveal blue veins beneath. With ivory white lashes to match their hair, they appear almost ghostly -- save for the red symbols tattooed onto their cheeks. These marks are known as traditional Kumadori that serve as markings to ward off bad spirits and foul energy. The hematologist lacks blood in their face, with dark violet circles beneath tired eyes to prove it. Often, this blood chooses to turn the nozzle to a cursed faucet, and Gishiki will experience intense nosebleeds for long periods of time, losing enough blood to render a man unconscious.
To pair with this pale complexion is hair as white as snow and smoother than marble. It’s cut perfectly with square bangs and a bob that rests delicately upon the shoulders, not a single strange out of place.Their robes are grey with patterns of white and red, mirroring their twin Seita’s. The main kimono is paired with a crimson sash around the middle and red flowers along the sleeves and hem with highlights of white. Their sandals are black with red accents and they wear white socks to go along with them. Around their neck is a black collar, designed to boost blood circulation to the head, and they wear crimson tassel earrings along with it.
"it's something inexplicable"
☆ Blood: The very thing they worship. Due to its complexity, Gishiki finds themself captivated when in the presence of the scarlet liquid, often spending several moments staring in awe at it when injured. They will often cause their own nosebleeds in order to satisfy the need for blood on their hands, and will appear to shudder at the scent of iron.
☆ Silence: Both Gishiki and Seita are mute by choice, meaning that they will only speak when they feel the need to, which is rare. They are big believers in the value of a word, and think that people often waste words too willingly instead of saving them to cherish their impact. Sometimes, the twins can go for months without saying a single word, only speaking to each other in private.
☆ Cards: Pragmatic and Logical, Gishiki enjoys a game of Western cards such as Poker or Blackjack. Also enjoys Japanese games such as Hanafuda and Takoyaki. they are also quite skilled at crafting large card towers and are often amazed at the precision and symmetry needed to create such a structure. Enjoys gambling without a wager.
☆ Snakes: Both twins have a deep connection to serpents. They each own one albino python that they keep in their room; Gishiki’s snake is named Karasu. If a snake is venomous, Gishiki will willingly provoke it to force it to bite them, believing it to be the way the creatures show affection.
☆ Rubbing Alcohol: The scent of rubbing alcohol is a sign of sterility that Gishiki adores. Sometimes they will hoard bottles of the chemical to inhale the fumes and admire the cleanness of its scent, and will often clean with it to disinfect every surface that they touch. Whenever injured, Gishiki will willingly douse themselves in alcohol in order to "purify" their soil and body.
☆ Seita: Gishiki has a strong fondness for their twin, Seita. The two are often inseparable, and impossible to tell apart if not for Gishiki’s heterochromia. Though they mirror each other in mannerisms, it is apparent that Gishiki is the more outgoing of the two and will engage in observation more than Seita will.
☆ Music: Because their twin Seita carries a taiko drum for sleep-casting, Gishiki has grown quite fond of a bit of music every now and then. They dislike lyrical songs and prefer quiet, soothing orchestral tones or harp melodies to listen to while they work. The hematologist’s heightened sense of hearing often draws them in closer to melodies.
"it's something unaccountable"
✖ Germs: Gishiki is terrified of illnesses, germs and pathogens, and will show visible signs of panic if their blood is tainted by any of them. One of the only times they will ever show physical signs of expression is when hiding from dirt and disorder, trembling behind Seita, or within their room. It is because of this intense fear that Gishiki is so obsessed with sterility.
✖ Solitude: If away from Seita for long periods of time, Gishiki will panic and grow restless. In the past, there had been an experiment conducted where the two were separated by a wall, and the older of the two clawed at the bricks until their fingers were scarred and fleshless. The twins are said to have a spiritual bond that connects them at the root of their souls.
✖ Insects: While they are not afraid of insects, the tiny creatures do not possess a conventional circulatory system, and thus are uninteresting. Because insects are also widely regarded as germ carriers from their dwellings in the ground, the older twin has an extreme dislike for them, and will not hesitate to kill any that they see.
